Coach Erik ten Hag has indicated that Manchester United will continue negotiations to strengthen the squad in the winter transfer window.
After a lukewarm start to the new Premier League season, marked by defeats to Brighton and Brentford, United have bounced back to make it five wins in their last six games in the competition. The only blemish was the home defeat against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
Hag plans to attend several meetings during the international break in September to discuss next year’s transfer plans.
“Always taking advantage of such breaks is useful,” the Dutch coach revealed to MUTV. “We have a lot of negotiations. We need to improve the structures in and around the club, we will. We will also look at the upcoming January and summer transfer windows. This is to improve the way you play. We will plan and, of course, we have to prepare well for the coming season, when we have a game every third day.” said the 52-year-old United pilot.
According to him, despite the fact that 90% of the team’s personnel will be away from Old Trafford during the international break, the rest of the football players will train fully. “We have to prepare a lot and I hope that everyone stays healthy and comes back healthy.”
Old Trafford are still looking for a new central midfielder. In the summer, the club tried unsuccessfully to sign Barcelona footballer and Dutch star Frenkie de Jong.
